5 May '11 - We are done! This Paper City has released a 12-track indie album, which you can download right from the Music section... you know, right-click and "Save As" for you Windows people, and um, I'm sure Macs have a button or something. After around two years and lots of time spent in the studio both recording and mixing, we've put this together for you and are releasing it for free. Why? Cos the last album cost a lot to make and we could either spend more money polishing the new tracks, or just give them to you and see what you think first (and I want to get the Charger a new paint job). We hope you enjoy them. Special mention needs to go to Andre Birt for being the lead engineer on this one and doing most of the recording in his studio, which is a pretty decent set-up. Also, props need to go to AJ Hay who spent a fair bit of time doing the mixing for us and adding the finishing touches.
I also just realised it's NZ Music Month, but honestly that was just a coincidence...
As for the musical credits:
Micaela "don't call me boom-boom" Bonnar - bassical
Brent "Brenticus" Martin - lead drummist
AJ "Hey-Hey" Hay - keys, backing vocals
Andre "Doc" Birt - Lead guitar
Cliff "insert nickname here" Hedley - vocals, backing vocals, guitar
5 September '10 - The band is back in the studio with the new lead and backing vocals laid down for Save You by Aj and Cliff, with Andre on the controls. Next week we'll be recording bass and keys for the new version, and won't be far away from mixing and mastering after that! The plan is to send Save You and Hangin' On off to be polished up with our old mate Andrew Buckton at Studio 203. After that, we'll be looking to release them via iTunes, and shoot a video for Hangin' On.
20 August '10 - We hope you like the new home page, developed by our own Mr Birt. He'll be updating it every month with a new feature - this month AJ rocks out on keytar, '80s style. Here's a hint - keep watching for all the antics from the band, and hover your cursor over instruments to hear different sound snippets.
